(nee Panchenko) at the pavilion. Is this the original hexagonal pavilion, named "Jiangjun Pavilion"? If so the appearance of this pavilion is today very different from what it was. In these photographs the General Pavilion at that time was a Chinese-style pavilion with double eaves and four corners, built with white birch logs and was full of primitive atmosphere. I am taking an educated guess. Please inform me and readers if I have it wrong. I know there was a Children Railway Park, but I doubt that is it. The Jiangiun Pavillion and entire park is all bright lights and techno these days. I prefer the simplicity and beauty of what is was before. Xenia certainly liked it back then. Sorry the images are from original photograph slides only about 2 by 1.5 cm. Xenia Vladimirovna is in the last image. I believe it features in the book we were discussing earlier so to have an original copy makes me feel blessed. The system here was not working for days hence the delay. All seems great now. |

30 2025 13:39 Not long ago the moderator posted a lovely couple of photographs of Ekaterina Orlovskaya singing, entertaining diners including Larisa Andersen. There were two maybe three fellows sitting at the table with her. One is very familiar to me but I could not remember the name nor association but now I have seen the man in another photograph. Gulnara and many forum subscribers will instantly recognize and recall the gentleman and the photo may be of interest. He is second from the right hand side of the photograph. If it is okay with the moderator I will simply write in English from now on. I noted that Google Translate did in fact change meaning of some sentences I wrote in prior topics. Hope that is acceptable to all.  The photograph is of The Private Russian Opera Company. In the center are Feodor Chaliapin and Bronislava Niinska. On the floor in the center is Irina Grzhebina. 1930s. This is from the Archive of M.Yu.Doriomedova (Naples). Two questions arise for me. 1. Maybe Nijinska.is the beautiful lady in a photograph I put on the forum earlier and will do once more? 2. The and role of the gentleman in question? |
