There is a very interesting webpage on how so many pages were left out due to the author running out of time. There should have been 330 pages, with the following pages missing from almost all of them: 23/24, 25/26, 27/28, 29/30, 31/32, 105/106, 107/108, 109/110, 123/124, 125/126, 195/196 , 197/198, 213/214, 215/216, 221/222, 237/238, 281/282, 283/284, 285/286, 287/288, 289/290, 291/292. Fascinated by military service, from 1910-1914 he was in a company of high school riflemen at the 12th Siberian Rifle Regiment, and served camp training with it. In December 1914, without finishing high school, he volunteered for the army. In 1915 he graduated from the Irkutsk Military School and in the spring of 1916 he was sent to the front, where he remained until September 1917. He commanded the 11th company of the 88th Petrovsky Infantry Regiment, then the assault company of the "Death Battalion". In December 1917 returned to Vladivostok. In March 1918, when the demobilized Fleet Crew units were leaving the city, V.D. Zhiganov was one of the two officers whose shoulder straps were the last to be removed. Until the day of the first overthrow of the Bolshevik government in Vladivostok, he was a member of the secret anti-Bolshevik organization of Colonel V.A. Volkov and the Union of Frontline Soldiers, with whom he participated in the coup of June 29, 1918. After the coup, he joined a company of front-line soldiers formed by the Union and later merged with the 1st Siberian Rifle Regiment. Vasily Danilovich commanded this company until he was transferred to the 36th Siberian Rifle Regiment. In May 1919, with a group of one hundred officers (General Volkov's Volunteer Detachment), he left Vladivostok for Omsk, being the standard-bearer of the detachment's banner, presented by the city of Vladivostok. Zhiganov spent the White campaign in Siberia in the Model Jaeger Division as a junior officer, and then as the head of a machine-gun team. He arrived in Irkutsk on the day it was captured by the Reds and found himself in their power. On February 16, 1920, risking his life, he escaped from Irkutsk and, having made his way through the front line, arrived at his Jaeger Regiment in Transbaikalia. It is interesting, but during the 14 months spent on the German front and the entire period of the Civil War, the brave officer was never wounded or shell-shocked, despite the fact that he participated in the most brutal and bloody battles. Thus, on July 10, 1917 (Kerensky's battles) near Dvinsk, out of twelve officers of the battalion, seven were wounded and three were killed. In the battles near Barnaul, in the late autumn of 1919, as part of the Model Jaeger Battalion, out of twelve officers of the machine-gun crew, nine were killed and two were wounded. Vasily Danilovich finished his military service with the rank of staff captain. On May 25, 1922, V.D. Zhiganov left for Kamchatka, for the Dembi fishing grounds. The winter of 1922-1923. was the head of the Nizhne-Kamchatka school, introducing the abolished Law of God, which he himself taught until the end of the school year, despite the arrival of the Bolsheviks there in February. At that time, he was the only teacher of the Law of God in all of Kamchatka, and possibly in the entire Far East. In 1923, he organized the Union of Fishermen of the Kamchatka River Valley, which united two thousand fishermen of the valley. In the same year, relying on the Union, he organized a strike that lasted 21 days and pursued the goal of fighting the Centrosoyuz. In 1924, he organized a Religious Society, which reopened the Ust-Kamchatka Church, closed in 1918, as a result of which the local department of the State Unitary Enterprise put up strong resistance to the Society, and six months later the church was turned into a Komsomol club. In the summer of 1925, after the third arrest of V.D. Zhiganov was sent under escort on a schooner to the Provincial Department of the GPU in Petropavlovsk, and from there to Vladivostok. But on the way, during a stop in Japan, he escaped from the ship and remained there until leaving for Shanghai, where he arrived on December 25, 1925. In Shanghai in 1928, Vasily Danilovich organized the Society of Medical Mutual Aid, which he headed until 1931. At the same time, he was a member of the Council of the Russian National Society.
