Mike, Great! I noticed that the first badge closely matches your photo but since I am not familiar with Canadian army structure I wasn’t sure whether there were other units with similar looking insignia. The 141st CEF infantry battalion indeed was stationed at Fort Frances so looks like you got a perfect match. It was later absorbed by 18th reserve battalion: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1...se%29,_CEFAs an additional proof (assuming I understood the logic correctly) the regimental number from his attestation paper (I found it) falls into the numbers range assigned to the above mentioned 141st battalion according to this table: http://www.cefresearch.com/mat...ummary.htmI checked several other numbers from this range and some papers even have “141st” stamped on top.
