LYSEN

Hello, My wife's Father was a Ukranian citizen who was arrested in Lviv in 1941 and used as a slave worker. In 1947 he was taken to England where he lived until his death in 1990.
He came from a farming family. His father's name was DMYTRO LYSEN, his mother PERASKA LYSEN. They had five children: OLGA, SOFIA, PERASKA, STEFAN AND FEDIR (my wife's father) Dmytro died in 1936/37.
Would like to find out if any of Fedir's brother or sisters managed to survive the war and if any descendants are still alaive today.

Fedir's birthday is 18th may 1921. The location is unknown but somewhere near Lviv. He didnt say much about his time in Ukraine apart from that he grew up at a farm. He was at a library in Lviv when he was rounded up by the Germans and transported to Germany to work as a slave labourer. He did not say much about those years - It must have been a horrible time. he was bought to England to assist with labour shortages after 1947 and the rest of his history is known up to his death in 1990. We are trying to find if any relatives are still alive in Ukraine today. We have applied to a german archive which should give us his hometown and that should make the search more easy. Until that comes we must just ask the kindness of the Ukraine people to see what they can find out. Every scrap of information is very valuable.

In ucrainian base is only 2 ЛЫСЕН and 4 ЛЫСЕНА.
But much more
62 ЛИСЕНА
88 ЛЫСИН and 126 ЛЫСИНА
33 ЛЫСЫН and 7 ЛЫСЫНА
552 ЛИСИН and 713 ЛИСИНА

And please remember that can be many mistakes, because
ucrainian И = russian Ы

Есть в базе и такая фамилия, но только 12 человек и трое из них (все женщины) из Львова.

Western Ukraine in interwar was in Poland. Rest of Ukraine was in Soviet Union. In autumn 1939 Western Ukraine was incorporated into the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic.
