I am researching the family and ancestors of Анна Сергеевна Матвеева and would be very grateful for any information or assistance.
The information I have is:
* Анна Сергеевна Матвеева
* Date of birth: 31 March 1888
* Place: Москва
* Married Леонид Георгиевич Кубаровский
* Marriage date: 19 января 1907 года
* Place of marriage: Верхоспасский собор, Москва
* Archival reference: ЦГИА Санкт-Петербурга, ф. 19, оп. 127, д. 2024, л. 29
* In the available index, she is recorded as Анна Сергеевна Матвеева, daughter of a потомственный почётный гражданин.
I am looking for:
* Anna’s parents;
* her brothers and sisters;
* her birth and baptism record;
* her family’s residence in Moscow;
* her ancestry and information about the Матвеев family.
I am particularly interested in finding original archival or church records that could establish her parents and family connections.
The original marriage record should be located at ЦГИА Санкт-Петербурга, ф. 19, оп. 127, д. 2024, л. 29.

I would really love to learn more about Anna’s mother and, if possible, trace the female line as far back as we can — her mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and so on. I would be especially interested in discovering their names, maiden names, places of origin, and any available birth, marriage, or baptism records. I am particularly intrigued by Emilia Steinke (Эмилия Богумиловна Матвеева, née Steinke). I wonder whether we can establish with certainty that she was indeed the mother of Anna Sergeevna Matveeva, rather than simply someone who was closely connected to the family. The evidence you found is very compelling, especially the fact that Emilia Matveeva, née Steinke, appears as the wife of a doctor and later as Emilia Bogumilovna Matveeva, but I would love to find an original record that explicitly connects her to Anna — ideally a birth/baptism record, marriage record, or another document naming Anna’s parents. If we could confirm Emilia as Anna’s mother, I would be very interested in going further back through Emilia’s family and finding her parents, grandparents, and earlier female ancestors as far as the records allow. I easily found the information above, as Yandex Archive deciphered the handwritten text and allows searching. The surname Steinke is found among Moscow merchants. They were Lutherans, probably Germans. If I see any information about this surname, I will write about it here. Are you familiar with the website GENI.com? There's information about the Kubarovskys and Matveyevs there. Join the site. Collaborating can yield significant insights into the family name. | | |
