I . World Former Foreign Harbiners Forum and International Seminar on the History of Former Foreign Residents of Harbin
World Former Foreign Harbiners Forum & International Seminar on the History of Former Foreign Harbiners are hosted by Harbin Municipal Government and co-hosted by Heilongjiang Provincial Academy of Social Sciences, Heilongjiang University, Israeli Association of Former Residents of China and the Polish Harbiners Club.
More than sixty former foreign Harbiners from around the world and their offspring will be invited to the event, as well as experts and scholars from home and abroad.
Participants of the event aim to explore historical resources, renew friendship and hold discussions on the further development of Harbin. It is highly expected that this event will lay a solid foundation for the city to develop closer relations with other countries in the areas of economy, trade and culture.
II. Harbin-Israel Industrial Cooperation Summit for Promotion of the China-Israel Industrial Park
Harbin-Israel Industrial Cooperation Summit for China-Israel Industrial Park Promotion is hosted by the Harbin Municipal Government and co-hosted by the Embassy of Israel in Beijing and Mitrelli Group of Israel. It aims to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of China-Israel Diplomatic Relations, promote interactions between Harbin and Israeli enterprises and step up the implementation of China-Israel Industrial Park in Harbin. We plan to invite twenty leading Israeli enterprises in the field of finance, aviation industry, diary industry, agribusiness, pharmaceutical industry and food industry to the summit. Entrepreneurs will make field trips to explore the industrial foundation and the development potential of Harbin and hold talks with local partners.
III. Unveiling Ceremony of Harbin Jewish History and Culture Museum
At the turn of the 20th century, Harbin was the largest center for Jews and the largest Jewish community in Far East. During the peak period, 25,000 Jewish people were residing in Harbin. Built in 1918, the Harbin New Synagogue is one of the most important Jewish relics in Harbin and the largest synagogue in China. In 2004, the Harbin New Synagogue was renovated by the Municipal Government and opened to public. To further enhance the exploitation and utilization of Jewish historical and cultural resources, the Harbin Municipal Government officially marks this location as the Harbin Jewish History and Culture Museum in 2017. Unveiling Ceremony of the Harbin Jewish History and Culture Museum will be held during the Conference.
IV. World Former Foreign Harbiners History and Photo Exhibition
World Former Foreign Harbiners History and Photo Exhibition is hosted by the Heilongjiang Provincial Academy of Social Sciences. The exhibition will be held permanently in the Harbin Jewish History and Culture Museum (the former Harbin New Synagogue). The exhibition consists of seven areas, including Safe Heaven for Jewish People in Far East, The Jewish Contribution to the Economic Growth of Harbin, Former Jewish Residents’ Passion for Harbin and others. Dozens of sand models, sculptures and over 400 photographs will be on display, aiming at demonstrating past activities in the areas of religion, politics, economy and culture by the Jewish people in Harbin.
