I''m certainly interested. Information I have collected says, that my part of this family comes directly from Nikolay P.. What is particurarly important for me is, what may seem strange, religion. In Poland - in fact I'm polish and have polish citizenship - most of us are roman-catholics. I'm personaly orthodox convert and want to know, how it used to be in the past.

I have also haerd, that the native country was Ukraine (in Poland it is colled Lithuania becouse of the old state construction) - the place was probably "Biały Brzeg" - do you have any idea where can I find information about this?

Is it a good idea to ask a professional russian genealogist for help? Is it profitable? Expensive?

Linevich Nikolay Petrovich - the general of infantry (1838 - 1908). Began military service the simple soldier. In 1900, being at the head of 1-st Siberian Korps, during a campaign to Peking odered about Russian group. When in 1904 war with Japan began, Linevich arrival on a battlefield on March, 15, 1904) odered about Manchurian army; then was the commander armies of Amur military district. At formation of new armies in October, 1904 it is appointed by the commander 1-st Manchurian army. When fight at Mukden has made impossible preservation Kuropatkin in a post of the commander-in-chief, Linevich (on March, 3, 1905) has been appointed to his place. Any large affair since this moment before the ending of war was not. Linevich has kept those positions up to which have been pushed aside Russian after defeat at Mukden, but did not dare to go over to the offensive, insisting on sending such reinforcements with which it{he} in 1.5 would be stronger than Japanese. When hearings about the world have begun. Linevich together with Kuropatkin sent to Petersburg telegrams in which spoke, that the victory is provided, the world would be terrible misfortune. After the conclusion of world Linevich has remained in Manchuria, managing the evacuation of armies complicated with strikes and revolts. Unwillingness Linevich to resort to especial to drastic measures against strikers has led to to that investigation on accusation Linevich of inactivity of the authority has been appointed, soon stopped. In February, 1906 it is dismissed from a post of the commander-in-chief.

This story was published in East-Siberian Pravda (Newspaper, 20 Oct 2001).

It says that general has son Boris. He was married Claudia Dmitrievna Semenevskaya. She was from Ukraine but lived in Sankt-Petersburg. The have three children: Vladimir, Elena and Eugenia. Boris and Claudia divorced after the death of general and Claudia was married Andrei Feofanovitch Svechnikov (also from Ukraine).
There is no informaion about where, when and how Boris died.

Attention! All of four children of Claudia and Andrei had the surname of Linevich and were not descendants of general!!!

Vladimir Borisovitch was lost in First World War, Elena died with her kind.

So the one known (for the authors of the article) descendant of general is Eugenia Borisovna Linevich.

Eugenia was married Mikhail Mikhailovich Kozinec, he was red cosack. They met in Verhneudinsk town. They lived in Irkutsk. But then Eugenia and Mikhail also were divorced. They had son Vladimir and daughter Nina. Vladimir has daughter Irina.

So there is brief translation 101.gif
