26 августа 2020 20:05 Hi! My name is Maia, I am from Argentina. I am trying to find information about my great great grandparents, where did they leaved or why they left the country. All the information I have is that their names where (as they wrote in Argentina when they arrived) Catalina Fusch married with Jorge Jacobo Schvartz, fathers of María Schvartz. They came to Argentina around 1913. María was probably born in Saratov in 1910, and Jorge Jacobo in 1869, I don't know where, neither Catalina. I hope you can help me to get some information! Thanks in advance!! maia

28 августа 2020 2:28 Hi Alex! Thanks for your message. I know they had more childrens, but I do not know their names. Also my grandma told me they had a baby that died on the boat. I couldn't find their entry to Argentina. There is a family with similar names but there are some inconsistencies. Maybe they enter through Brazil or other country...In Argentina they lived in "Costa San Antonio, Entre Rios". Regards, Maia

28 августа 2020 13:32 Hello Maia,
generally all names mentioned seems to be of German origin.
Jorge Jacobo Schvartz = German = Georg Jacob Schwartz
Catalina Fusch = could be Catharina
Typically these names are a little bit "transformed" on the moment they enter a new country. Normally they are written as the person in charge on the border "understand" the name......
I attached a shipping manifest from ancestry.com from England, port of Liverpool for leaving vessels on April 1912.
There is a Georg Schwartz (and many more people with the same surname) coming from Russia to England on a Russian ship named "Odessa"
The ship mentioned in the manifest had the destination of "Buenos Aires
Second check: on the manifest list is a person named Marie Schwartz, female and 2 1/2 years old, maybe it could be Maria, born 1910 in Saratov ?
If you have any questions feel free to ask.
Regards Alex
Please try to check if the age of the all people with the surname "Schwartz"on that list might correspond to the information you have already.

It seems that Georg and Marie are the ones I am looking for =) Could be that Marie the wife is Catalina... Now I have this, I would try to keep researching where did they lived, why did they left the country and also their religion. Do you have any idea where I could start? Thanks again and have a good day. Maia

28 августа 2020 23:56 Hello Maia,
o.k., it looks like another hint:
Catalina Fusch = German: Catharina FUCHS (surname translates in English "fox")
I have found this on myheritage.de
It looks like the FUCHS family lived in a German settlement in Russia called Hussenbach.
Make sure to understand that the Catharina Fuchs from the attached hardcopy is not the one you are looking for ;-)
But it looks like many parts of the FUCHS family moved to Argentina, so the best advice is to grap the telephon book for the place mentioned in that hardcopy and try to reach somebody. Maybe it works.
In this familytree for the FUCHS family there is also somebody mentioned who is researching them.
Regards Alex

29 августа 2020 18:52 Hello Alex! THanks a lot again! Your advice is great, I have already done sth like that The thing is that the Catalina Fusch I am looking for seems to have came only with her husband and childrens (Schvartz). None of the Fuchs and Shwartz thar live in or near Urdinarrain (as the copy mentions) are related to them. Also some of them have came from Hussenbach and other from the Pale (Pogroms). Unlikely myheritage is really expensive in Argentina... I could reach the basics only What I would like to find now is the exit from Odessa, maybe there mentions where they lived... Regards! Hola Maia, Sabes si ellos eran católicos o luteranos? De eso depende un poco en qué archivos buscar las inscripciones. Has probado buscar en alfabeto cirilico?

Casi seguro NO eran católicos.
