The baptized Jew Moses Mordas-ewicz- Zylinski was rewarded with the Bug river bridge by the king in 1514. His grandson Jan Mordas-Zylinski (b.156O) is indicated in this table.
According to our family legend, our Jewish ancestors were brought from Slovakian Zilina to Lithuania by crusaders by force. They were forcing our ancestors to be their servants. Zilina was full of German colonists. It does not mean crusaders have brought our ancestors to Lithuania directly from Zilina, because crusaders from European countries were gathering in some one place from where they were invading pagan Prussia and Lithuania.
Very likeky, our ancestors did not have any surname in Zilina, but in Lithuania, they have adopted the surname ZHILIN (later Zylinski,Zilenas,Zilionis) and set up their first village Zilinai. Later they have set up the street and village Zilioniai in Seta where the Jewish museum is being built.
