Martin Deutschmann (1800-1859) married Maria Neufeld (b. 1803). Martin was likely the son of Johann Deutschmann (1777-1836) and Catharina Fischer. This family was from Wickerau, near Mariupol, South Russia. Wickerau was a village in what was known as the Grunau Colonies or the Planer Kolonien. They were members of the Grunau Evangelical (Lutheran) Church. (This church was part of the St. Petersburg consistory, whose records (1833-1885) have been microfilm by the Family History Center.)

Anna, Jacob, Catherina, Elisabeth & Erdmann came with their families to America in 1875. Georg immigrated with his family in 1878. All except for Jacob settled in southwest Minnesota. Jacob (my 2xGr-grandfather) lived first in Kansas, then Minnesota, finally in Whitman County, Washington, where he died. I assume the others lived all their lives in Russia.
