Тема: Are there indexes in Russia of fallen wehrmacht soldiers?
4.11.2025, 3:00

Privjet everyone,

I wonder if there are indexes in Russia that contain the names of fallen wehrmacht soldiers in ww2?

I discovered last Saturday that my great great grandfather Urban Baszczok, born in Szymocice, Raciborz in 1905 has german 'Wast' files on the Bundesarchiv Invenio database (which was quite a surprise since nobody knew this in the family, indicating that he served in the army), its also confirmed by a red cross index of him of which I will add the picture.
There were also 2 brothers of his included in the database of the Bundesarchiv. I tried to check on the army grave website of Volksbund.de, but I didn't see any of them, only other relatives that come from the same village or nearby villages that died in Russia and or Ukraine.
Perhaps the Volksbund website is incomplete? Thats why I wonder if there is a Russian alternative.

Here is their information:

Тема: Staszyna/Сташины (Old slavonic translation needed)
28.10.2024, 13:33

I'm searching for the birth date and the parents of Iwan Staszyna/Сташины. Nobody on polish forums wants to translate or index the old slavonic part of the book from Losiniec, Tomaszow Lubelski, Poland (Losynets, Tomashev). I also don't think someone on the ukrainian forum will answer since it has been almost a week now.
Iwan Staszyna/Сташины is presumably born around 1734, but I'm not sure.

Links to polish forums were other Staszyna's were found in the old slavonic part of the book:
