MUCHNIK

There are 2 families in Chile with the 2 different spellings which must be
the result of the translation from cirilic alphabet into Spanish, done by
poorly educated chilean inmigration officers at the beginning of the 20th
century. Anyhow, my father Israel Muchnik, 6th child (the youngest) and
only male, son of Chaim Muchnik and Genie Nudel, was born in Bershad,
Ukraine in 1913 as he claims  (or 1911 as his papers say, although
following his sisters ages,I believe 1913). He must have travelled in 1917
with his mother and 5 sisters, when my grand father had collected the money
for the trip, as he had come earlier.  Chaim Muchnik's mother was Aisel or
Eisel and Genie Nudel's mother was Rosenberg. About the other Muchnick's I
know some of the present generation people but none of their history.
