I have now made contact with a relative from Russia and have received a large amount of information about the family. Most interesting was the complete document about Heinrich Lisners. I am in the process of trying to decypher all the information because there is confusion in the written word where the letter formation is in three different character formations. It is taking time to put it all together but I am slowly getting there. I still have no information about my grandmother, Elisabeth Lisners, who was born (to my knowledge) in Odessa. She died when she was very young and I believe she died from Typhus or typhoid fever.

In answer to the question in German whether I found anything in Riga. Yes. I met with a family of Lisners who were absolutely wonderful to me and with whom I travelled throughout Latvia. We are still trying to find the direct relationship between us but I am sure that we are related. There are some familial resemblences in us, in our makeup and our looks. It would be very intersting to find the lines. It was actually they who put me in touch with this website so I have them to thank for the beginnnings I am making. I now have been sent a family tree which dates back to 1737. Fantastic. There are still some grey areas. For instance. My grandmother was born in Odessa and married Karl Lisners. She was also a Lisners I was led to believe. Could it be that she was Edward Lisners daughter? So many questions.

I spent time with a lovely Lisners family Juris and Liga and their two daughters Klinta and Lina. I also met his aunty, Gaida Lisners. All very interesting.
