I am trying to find information about my great-grandfather Leon Vladislaw Czech. Was informed he was Polish however now could be known to be born in Siberia around 1918, possibly born 10th Feb 1918. Looks to have migrated to Britain around 1950s where he was married to a local Brit. Was told numerous times his last name was shortened when he moved countries, unsure if this is true or incorrect.

Siberia is a vast natural and historical region that encompasses several administrative-territorial units and numerous settlements. Without at least a rough understanding of the search area, it will be like looking for a needle in a haystack. How or where did you find out that he was born in Siberia? Perhaps there is additional information or some important clues?
