Hello All,
I am inquiring here if anyone knows (or could tell me where to find) anything about my ancestors. They were Jews from Mogilev Gubernia/Gomel Oblast in Belarus. Samson Samson was from Streshin, born c.1874 and came to the U. S. in 1913, although he left for Ekaterinoslav gubernia (now Dnipropetrovsk) before then. His sister was named Hinde or Ida, and his father was named Mordechai (Mordukh in Russian.) He may have also had a brother named Roman. His wifeʻs maiden name was Rose/Reisel Minkin, born c.1882 (This was sometimes also written down as Minken.) Her motherʻs maiden name was Chane Belenskaya. They were from Merkulovichi or Gorodets in Gomel. She came to America with her children in 1923. They had four children together, Beila (Blanche) born 1904, Henia (Anna) born 1908, Morduch (Max) born 1910, and Chiena (Jean) born 1912. Rose, Samson, and their children all moved to Ekaterinoslav Gubernia sometime before 1913.
Thank you,
Nathaniel Chang-Deutsch
