My e-mail address is irina_grogan@hotmail.com and I do live in Moscow. Grogan is the name I got after having got married to my Irish husband. It's not a very common name in Ireland, but not as common as Kelly or Ryan indeed.

Dear Judy,

My grandmother was also Oklander, Sonja, also born in August, 1910 or so, in Bessarabia. Her father was Ruvin, she had two sisters - Eva and Zhenia and a brother Booma, who died very young. My grandparent were killed by Nazis on the way to the concentration camp. My granny and her sisters moved to the former USSR, where they lived most of their lives and died in 70-80. Myself and my mom, whose maiden name was also Oklander at same point, live in Moscow.

Does that ring the bells? Where were your grandmother and father born?

I am looking for information on the Oklander family. My grandmother was Rifka Oklander born August 20, 1907. She was one of 9 children. I do not know much more and since she is deceased, as well as my father, Morris Oklander born August 26,1937, I have no one to ask. Any information would be appreciated
