Did you try an archives in Moscow and Peter? Мартынов was the military man, the data should be transferred there.... a_003.gif

Bad experience as well,
once I paid in Petersburg a lot of money,
just so they can tell me that there is nothing in the folder!

Even went to St. Petersburg to go to the archives,
the day of my arrival they closed the doors for renovation......

Closed for many years!

Even paid somebody in Petersburg to try to retrieve files from the archives, money taken but he or his contact couldn't get in...... supposedly!

I know about it, but church books for Catholics don't start till about 1812

The problem with this Martinoff at the Georgien Hospital is,
that we don't know if and to which regiment he was attached and in what year,
he could have just taken the lands around the St. Georgy Hospital,
without being attached to the regiments which were stationed there!
It would mean a search of all regiments between 1697 and 1729-33,
that's like playing Lotto....
