We are searching for ancestors and descendents of Alexander ROSENFIELD
(1871-1922). He was the son of Aaron Kogosovich and Miriam (GITTLEMAN ?)
BECKER (we have good evidence that the family name was originally BECKER,
but don't know when it was changed).  We believe that Aaron originally came
from Korets, Volhynia, Ukraine but moved to Odessa (date unknown, but
probably before 1880).  Alexander emigrated to Chelsea MA about 1890

Alexander had no brothers. His sisters (with married names) were: Dora
(D'vera) GORDON, Nachama SPRITZ, Bessie DIMENTBARG, Mary EPSTEIN, and Rose
(never married, died young).  Only Nachama remained in Odessa and we
understand that she and almost all of her family were Holocaust victims.

Some information about the Spritz family, who remained in Odessa:

I have been told: my great aunt Nachama (or Natalie) ROSENFIELD (1871-1944?)
grew up in Odessa, then Russia and now Ukraine. She married Leo SPRITZ and
they had three daughters (Catherine, Miriam, and Esther) and a son (Victor).
The son, Victor SPRITZ, may have been a dentist.  Apparently Victor and his
son were the only Holocaust survivors, having fled Odessa for Moscow. The
mother was rumored to own property in Odessa. Her parents were Aaron and
Miriam ROSENFIELD (or BECKER), who may have originated in the shtetl of
Korets.  One or two of the daughters were reputed to be physicians and at
least one daughter lived in Odessa.  Of the daughters, Esther SPRITZ
SILVERMAN rumored to be married to a physician.

I would appreciate any help you can give.

Al Rosenfield
